Jim McArthur Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 What is the difference - or is there one - between a racing pigeon, and a homing pigeon? Or is a racing pigeon merely a homing pigeon used for racing purposes? Jim McArthur
THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 the difference is racing pigeons win races, homing pigeons doo just that, and i have too many homers, not enough racers, this is why u motivate birds ie. widdowhood, and many other methods to change a homer into a racer.

birdman55678 Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Racers get home on the day from the 400. Homers get home during the week from the same race. As was said its motivation that does the trick. Ed
Jim McArthur Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 So, a racer is a homer who's doing his job! ;D Jim
