jimmy white Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 yes its getting a bit rediculous now, i paid £10 50 for my bag , allthough they did have a bad harvest this year , this has been the excuse b4 ,,, but when its a good harvest,,,,it never goes down [in price, that is ;D]
Fair Play Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Was talking to our local pet shop owner and was told that all corn prices go up officially on 1st Oct. it coinsides with the start of the show season, that coupled with the reported grain shortage we could be in for a tough winter peanuts just went up £8.00/bag not sure of the size.

So as that was nearly three weeks ago does that mean the price we are now paying will be the price we pay all winter now ?
pault Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 i think it will be the price we pay for good can not see it going back down
chickadee Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 So as that was nearly three weeks ago does that mean the price we are now paying will be the price we pay all winter now ? Well I certainly hope so cause I don't relish them going up again.
Fair Play Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 All about the harvests and according to unconfirmed reports China is buying everything(recently you couldn't even buy a fence panel) it can get it's hands on so we are slap bang in a sellers market. The price can only go up :'( :'( :'(
Guest Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Scottish grain producer on Landmark TV Prog last week couldn't conceal his glee on camera last week talking about sellers market too - last year he was getting £50 a ton, this year its £130 a ton ... and rising. If that's the case, not only will it not come down again in price, it'll rise even more.
Guest j.bamling Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 All the Grain is being bought to go to Teeside BioFuel Plant to make into some sort of fuel so there will be a shortage of corn aswell
Fair Play Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Classic example (for us Scots)" New potatoes" increase in price of chips did it come down did it heck just went back when new spuds came back again - a small bag of chips £1.00 Plus :( I think corn will be the same on the up and up
pault Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 All the Grain is being bought to go to Teeside BioFuel Plant to make into some sort of fuel so there will be a shortage of corn aswell ALL WE WILL END UP WITH IS THE S--T CORN THAT EVEN THE BIO FUEL PLANTS WILL NOT USE.
Guest j.bamling Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 ALL WE WILL END UP WITH IS THE S--T CORN THAT EVEN THE BIO FUEL PLANTS WILL NOT USE. the thing is pault - they will take the s--t corn aswell because it just gets chucked in to make fuel
pault Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 WELL WE ARE WELL AND TRULY F--KED THEN. US SMALL TEAM MEN WILL BE OK BUT THE BIG SENDERS WILL HAVE TO CUT BACK MY BE NOT A BAD THING
Guest j.bamling Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 i have been thinking a lot about pellet feeding this year they might not go up as much as corn ?
Guest Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 All the Grain is being bought to go to Teeside BioFuel Plant to make into some sort of fuel so there will be a shortage of corn aswell bang on man thats whats happening with it all more and more companies going down same road ,going back to the days of BREAD

Guest j.bamling Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 What is the most in price that any of the corn at your local shop has gone upto ? at our corn shop local farm corn normally £5.00 a bag is now £8.00 so £3.00 a bag extra
Back garden fancier Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Just been on news about corn prices, saying everything is going up! Bread milk eggs meat cheese. Partly because of bad harvest. But more to do with oil companies making bio fuel!!! So they put up the price of petrol and put up the price of all our food as well!!! Bas***ds
Guest MBpigeonguy Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 free for me, lol we just finished feilding a few thoused acers of fresh corn. so its free for me, along with all the other foods i use
Fair Play Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Back to wartime diet search and scour the hedge-rows, toast crumbled up some of the fanciers used to make their own pigeon cake with simple ingredients. :(
