gazza1 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 bought 4 birds from a guy in boston several months ago hes promising transfer of birds.i have phoned but no reply.i have sent letters with trasfer forms including self addressed stamped envelopes to him.i get no response i am new at the sport and hope not all are like this..not a good start.how do i get the birds in my name were do i go from here ?
Guest Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Unfortunately not all fanciers are too keen on paper work, think most of us will have had the same problem at some point, maybe the birds arent even transferred to him so he cant do you a transfer,or maybe he just cant be bothered. You can either just accept the situation or get in touch with his club sec or even the RPRA if you really want to pursue it.It is not uncomon for many fanciers to have the odd bird in their loft which is not in their name.
Guest shadow Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 go to your regional secretary and get his help or the club sec. of the bloke who sold you the birds
Guest Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 ;D gazza , phone his wife during the day and tell her how upset u are he has not done what he said ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D might just work ;D ;D andy
Tony C Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 If they're RPRA rings, report one of them to the RPRA as found. The fancier will have to pay £35 for Amtrak to pick it up or face the threat of suspension (if the ring is register to him) alternatively he can transfer it to you for the cost of £1, I'm sure he'll see sense

THE FIFER Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 i would just e-mail the rpra and let then know, reporting them well depends on what u paid, report them there is a chance the owner may send for them??????????
Guest Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 after u report to the rpra that u have recieved birds from a said fancier, they are legally bound by rpra rules to transfer them to u !if not after being informed of this the rpra have the power to transfer the pigeons into ur name i know of this because i went through a similar situation....paul.

gazza1 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 thanks for the advise..only paperwork he sent was 1 lot of pedigree for 1 bird and a note saying he was waiting on paperwork from rpra..he had the cheek to send it back in one of the envelopes i sent him..must have kept the transfers i sent him....cheers everyone

I'd try that, because it is always best to have proof of ownership of all pigeons in your loft, and some Unions require it be done within a certain time [i think] Invincible Spirit's advice :--- after u report to the rpra that u have recieved birds from a said fancier, they are legally bound by rpra rules to transfer them to u !if not after being informed of this the rpra have the power to transfer the pigeons into ur name i know of this because i went through a similar situation....paul.
