agree with you all on that kev,,,after the coxy saga,i was just wondering if oldguy was really genuine,,,,not saying he`s not genuine,just being cautious,not many come on here looking for pigeons for a 4 year old(i believe)....just seemed a bit funny thats all and i hope i offend no one over it !!!!!

one too many silly fools thinking there is some kind of conspiracy and all those who joined after they have, are fake, or TROLLS trying to wind up the members

 

if i need to have people to vouch for me it certainly will not be just for wanting to buy a few birds for the grand daughter.. white racers look more like fantails and are acceptable to the women of the household !!!!

 

I have had a few mails inviting me to contact various breeders and to those people i am thankful...but to those who question my intentions ..GET A LIFE

 

Oh and for the record I am well known to the well known people who matter in pigeon racing, but i'm not known as a keeper of birds..... plus i dont go round begging for what i want to buy

what about letting new fanciers know that they have to be a member on here for so long before they can ask for birds, i believe there are genuine & non genuine members looking for birds.

Muat admit Old Guy you're post gave me no confidence that you are genuine. If I was asking for help I would happily verify or give verification proof of who I am.

If you don't need help then why ask? And if you are well known, would have thought it easy for you to get birds through your superior contacts.

i have only just joined myself[and frankly dont give a toss for the politics of all this ]but i think that most members on this forum will help but need to do a check of some sort having been burnt by karzis in the past chriss

Newbes seem to be missing the point, it's not hard in the sense they will get all the help they can from other fanciers, whether it is advise or birds. But why not help us in return by supplying some basic info about yourselfs.

First if you want birds then do you have a loft to keep them in.

Do stay near any member so you can pick them up or they can drop them into you to save on amtrak.

Loads of ways members can help but as new members you seem to be just as wary of us as we are of you :-/

 

I think Dovescot is right here - if any of us are not willing to give basic info then there is something to hide. I was weary of everyone to start with after all my first encounter with the pigeon world was with Coxy - not a good start eh?  But like in life trust must be earned and for that then information must be given. ;D

Pigeon fanciers, i'll never work them out! What is it with this forum, is it for under 16's only cos thats how a lot act! Why the suspicion and then the personal attacks,  this thread had gone the right way due to genuine fanciers but now it has turned again as do a lot of other threads on here. Was reading another thread on here wher the MOD was getting knocked, well i would not MOD this site for all the money in Scotland. My last and final post.

I answered his first post quite simply asking if the white logans he was after was for his granddaughters release business,

he stated in his second post she was only four, I personally found it unusual that a four year would know the specific breed she wanted.

By his fouth post he was criticising members on the site for hassling him and being trolls

 

If this is wrong then Richard tell me where, or is it getting to the stage where we just put up and shup incase we upset someone :-/

the solution to help anybody wanting help is to ask them privatley if you have any doubts give them nothing .

 

now if someone asks me for a pigeon for his five year old daughter whats the problem ,its yes or no ,i dont have to give a pedigree for the bird ,i dont have to say its a good bird it will breed you hundreds of winners ,its a pigeon and a pigeon viewed has worthless to the owner or he would not be giving it away.

 

when people ask for pigeons if you do not want to give dont answer ,they will go else where or direct them to the bhw or rp where they can buy pigeons .

I came across this forum while trying to find a source of white logans which my grandaughter wants for her new loft, which i have to build for her

 

I would be greatful if any memebrs could point me in the direction of anyone who breeds logans and would be willing to sell a few youngsters

This is a quote of the original post and there is no request for free pigeons in it, in fact the clear intention is to buy, and locally.

 

Unless you were able to help with the query, there was no call to post on the original thread, and anyone calling into question the breed or type of pigeon requested really has no business doing so ... unless you also called into question every request for information on a specific breed or type of pigeon - which no doubt some will attempt as the 'next' 'brilliant' idea.

 

Old Guy in my opinion has every right to be peeved, and critical, basically in some eyes at least, everybody is a potential crook now, till they 'prove' otherwise. Take the later post's advice - get a life.

i fully understand ur post eagleowl,but where does it say anything about oldguy?..he choose to post on this thread and insult members who he says did not trust his intentions!

i think insults to this thread by him just showed why so many choose to be curious about helping new fanciers etc,...i am delivering birds to a fancier tomorrow who is 20+mls away and having to sort out more to help someone else out again this week!.

i dont see any problem with asking questions as long as u explain to the person ur helping that because of scams ,ur gonna ask some questions.

i think most fanciers who are being helped will answer any question as long as it dont get personal.

if theres nothing to hide they wont bite!!!
