THE FIFER Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Not fair if this rule was not made clear to all potential bidders, I certainly never knew of such a rule in any bidding before, always thought a deadline was the deadline :-/ i think its because if some are still bidding it gives all a chance and for the highest bidder to win, the other way it would be luck who got a bid in dead on 8, and who keeps time to say who bid right on the dot,
EAGLEOWL Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 surley it should be the last bid at eight pm that wins it :-/
sapper756 Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 surley it should be the last bid at eight pm that wins it :-/ So what happens if 2 identicle bids arrive together on exactly 8pm. one on the site. one by pm???? Sort that one out
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 MABEE HE HAS ANOTHER PAIR TO KEEP BOTH BIDDERS HAPPY. AND MORE MONEY FOR PIGEON BASICS He may need four pair as it was close between, Ferry, Rembrant2coo, Ch pied and birbman4610 :-/
ch pied Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 ok then all who sent in sealed bid's so to speak, ( declare them) now on the forum, for all to see, lets keep it transparent how about it boy's & girl's
EAGLEOWL Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 So what happens if 2 identicle bids arrive together on exactly 8pm. one on the site. one by pm???? Sort that one out then it would be down to the vendor to with draw the lot and re sell the pigeon ,or sell it to the one who bid first :-/
sapper756 Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 how about it boy's & girl's Not me, I made a bid in the early stages, but left it to the folk with money ;D ;D
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 So what happens if 2 identicle bids arrive together on exactly 8pm. one on the site. one by pm???? Sort that one out Then only they two should be allowed extra time to bid or a rule made beforehand to cover such an occurance and made public at start of auction
THE FIFER Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 So what happens if 2 identicle bids arrive together on exactly 8pm. one on the site. one by pm???? Sort that one out this is why they usually give a 10 min laps, if there is still bidding,
Guest Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 if there is two bidders at the same time...then let them two that was successful start a bidding again...think thats fair...but behind closed doors to stuart..with a say 5 min deadline...or just one single bid from either....paul
kaybee Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 If as Stuart stated that the bids would end at 8pm then the highest bidder as of 7.59.59 will be deemed the winner. This being the case then it wont be long before everyone can view the exact times that posts were made. It is very close between several bidders if this is the case
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 this is why they usually give a 10 min laps, if there is still bidding, Thats a great rule if it is one or if you know it's one, it would have to be in the site auction rules beforehand to stand as the ruling on this one :-/
Guest Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 pity it wasnt done by 8pm but on webcam(as in american pie ;D ;D.)..then all would see who deffinately won by the given time......god bless the age of tecnology ;D

Guest Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 correct i sent in bids to stuart and the web master last night just incase i missed the cut off time ;D TUFF ;D

DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 there was two...same price bid Depends on how the clock is set on the site, there may be four in the 59th minute before the 8 oclock deadline all showing the same time, if in minute incriments,
EAGLEOWL Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Correct if you are bidding on Ebay for instance the deadline falls and the winner is informed straight away The time clock on the site may have to be in mili seconds :-/ agree is the website clock correct ;D
Guest Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 i wonder if masserella has bid... ;D ;Di heard he does frequent this site ;D ;D
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 agree is the website clock correct ;D No matter where you are bidding the host clock is deamed the right time, big auctions make sure their clocks are set correctly You could get into all sorts of arguments as no clock is 100% correct if you want to argue
kaybee Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Think as its on PB the site clock over rules anybodys watch so to speak and all posts are registered in hour/minute/sec so it will be quite transparent for all to see
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Think as its on PB the site clock over rules anybodys watch so to speak and all posts are registered in hour/minute/sec so it will be quite transparent for all to see I agree, it looks like it is down to seconds or split seconds even.
EAGLEOWL Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Think as its on PB the site clock over rules anybodys watch so to speak and all posts are registered in hour/minute/sec so it will be quite transparent for all to see so then should be easy if you use ebay rules ,the first bid if equal bids are placed the first bid wins :-/
