Guest dogeon Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 when do you after put the ring on bird can it be removed and used on other birds in your loft from old to young how much to keep replacing these rings the rings get put on the birds before the race season begins your club should arange a date to do all the marking then the ring stays on that birds you can remove them but they need to be re-assigned if you want to race it on another bird
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 the rings get put on the birds before the race season begins your club should arange a date to do all the marking then the ring stays on that birds you can remove them but they need to be re-assigned if you want to race it on another bird if say i have 100 young birds how much for say 100 rings
Guest dogeon Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 if say i have 100 young birds how much for say 100 rings i think they are around £1.25 each but cant find price list i think they might be cheeper if you buy in bulk
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 i think they are around £1.25 each but cant find price list i think they might be cheeper if you buy in bulk thank you for your answers i just wondered how much rings where to replace ,everyone seems to be on about the system which is useless without the rings .
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 thank you for your answers i just wondered how much rings where to replace ,everyone seems to be on about the system which is useless without the rings . That's why some say the system should be free or at least cheaper, becuase of the money they will make on the rings :-/
THE FIFER Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 it costs money for the rings, but look at the money the club saves not having to buy rubbers which can only be used once, ets are used year after year, you lose them if you lose birds,
ALF Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 That's why some say the system should be free or at least cheaper, becuase of the money they will make on the rings :-/ NEVER GONNAE HAPPEN AM AFRAID DUNCAN MATE :-/ :-/ :-/
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 it costs money for the rings, but look at the money the club saves not having to buy rubbers which can only be used once, ets are used year after year, you lose them if you lose birds, That may be a lot of rings some years, dead birds will be robbed of rings, maybe even lost ones > > >
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 NEVER GONNAE HAPPEN AM AFRAID DUNCAN MATE :-/ :-/ :-/ AH KNOW THAT ALF, BUT I WOULD NOT MIND THE RING CONTRACT, WE MAYBE GET DEALS ONCE THINGS SETTLE DOWN AND SALES SLOW DOWN
Guest dogeon Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 That may be a lot of rings some years, dead birds will be robbed of rings, maybe even lost ones > > > i don't think anyone else can mark the ring in on a different bird as each ring has a different no' and when youve raced with it the rpar has a record of this no'
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 That may be a lot of rings some years, dead birds will be robbed of rings, maybe even lost ones > > > thats why i asked if they could be removed ;D because if so and can be used by someone else they will be plenty of birds return with them missing :-/saves the expense of buying new ones :-/
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 By what i can make out our clubs still going have use rubbers even if you are using ets why if there not needed :-/
THE FIFER Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 That may be a lot of rings some years, dead birds will be robbed of rings, maybe even lost ones > > > yes, most rings are lost by puting them on young birds for training, better not puting them on til they are well on the way, but i think if the bird is worth puting into a race its worth a ring, also it is still on the plans yet but they are trying to get the ets inserted in the union ring so it will be just the one ring, i think the all the good things about ets out bids the price of the ring,
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 By what i can make out our clubs still going have use rubbers even if you are using ets IF ETS FAILS THEN YOU HAVE A BACK UP WITH THE RUBBERS
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 thats why i asked if they could be removed ;D because if so and can be used by someone else they will be plenty of birds return with them missing :-/saves the expense of buying new ones :-/ THE CHIP CAN BE RESET :-/
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 IF ETS FAILS THEN YOU HAVE A BACK UP WITH THE RUBBERS so you still need your other clock settung then :-/
Guest dogeon Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 i thought that if the ets failed then that was down to you ie power cut, as you can buy the battery back up lead ;D. why would anyone who choose ets use rubbers, look at the time it will take at marking ill stick to just the ets.
THE FIFER Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 THE CHIP CAN BE RESET :-/ only by the clocksetters who have all the data and equipment, when rings are assigned to a member their union number is put into thre ring, and can only be changed by the setters with the equipment,
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 it costs money for the rings, but look at the money the club saves not having to buy rubbers which can only be used once, ets are used year after year, you lose them if you lose birds, race rubbers £22.00 a thousand ets rings £1.30 each x 1000 :-/
ALF Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 yes, most rings are lost by puting them on young birds for training, better not puting them on til they are well on the way, but i think if the bird is worth puting into a race its worth a ring, also it is still on the plans yet but they are trying to get the ets inserted in the union ring so it will be just the one ring, i think the all the good things about ets out bids the price of the ring, HI ARCHIE I THOUGHT ABOUT THE LOSING Y/B'S IN TRAINING FACTOR BEFORE I PUT THE RINGS ON ASWELL THATS WHY I GAVE THEM 20 TOSSES BEFORE I ETS RUNG THEM ALL BUT I HAD ONLY LOST 1 Y/B IN THAT TIME SO DIDNAE REALLY MAKE ANY DIFFERRANCE MATE 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 HI ARCHIE I THOUGHT ABOUT THE LOSING Y/B'S IN TRAINING FACTOR BEFORE I PUT THE RINGS ON ASWELL THATS WHY I GAVE THEM 20 TOSSES BEFORE I ETS RUNG THEM ALL BUT I HAD ONLY LOST 1 Y/B IN THAT TIME SO DIDNAE REALLY MAKE ANY DIFFERRANCE MATE 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) with such huge losses this last season with young birds in some federations and the up north combine races , i can tell you theres been plenty gone missing :-/
DOVEScot Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 i thought that if the ets failed then that was down to you ie power cut, as you can buy the battery back up lead ;D. why would anyone who choose ets use rubbers, look at the time it will take at marking ill stick to just the ets. I am not saying you need both, but maybe some maybe use both incase their ETS fails then they have a backup in place :-/
THE FIFER Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 so you still need your other clock settung then :-/ well you can but dont have too we dont that's one of the good things about ets no setting clocks or puting in rolls and ink pads, also when you get ur time from an ets all times are correct no geusing where pointers are on conventional clocks, or working out slow or fast clocks, also now ets works out the velocity, as said well worth the price of rings, you only lose them if you lose birds,
EAGLEOWL Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 No its an international rule they still using rubbers over there as well so the club still needs to buy rubbers :-/
