what purpose are the sputnics for? I have seen them on lofts I hope this is not such a daft question.

well it gets an openig for the front of ur loft, also a landing board and entry, and they are easy to fit, also birds can see outside while in them .

First thing I'l do is just take the frame work and cover both sides and ceiling, underneath and on top with smal gage wire mesh. Then  adde Vents on the outer side. And place a sloping roof   downwards so you can always see all of the top about 18 inches over lapping each side... 6 inches even and double sided wire meshed to stop anything enetering.

Put plastic Cladding fixed on side if you want some warmth ... that can be easierly replaced via the vents when more air is needed.

One side place shelving or nest boxes, that are water proof of course. 15 inches deep by 12 inches square if only one nest round is needed... A 2 foot deep if more than  one round ... when yougsters are being raised bring the nest bowl slight nearer to the front ... then at 14 days old put another bowl be hind... then when sitting eggs. Of course you have catered for a dorr into the loft ...

i would have 2, 5 and a half ft sections ,, w hood boxes on the back of the  [the 7ft bit] each side ,,,,and a sputick on each section  on the sides  to give you another 2 or 3 sq metres of room ,, this saves the birds getting out , but are able to drop in ,,and the advantage of them seeing the place ,, in fact it would be more like two lofts 7 ft long 5 and a half ft wide , with w,hood boxes at the back and sputnicks on the two fronts [in fact sides ]  just a thought, :),
