homer Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 i had loads of it it was off old bus shelters ive got to get hold of something like that myself, some sort of clear or frosted perspex/plastic that i can cut to size. but not sure best place to look ?
homer Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 u should be proud of that m8, thats a smart little shed and £13 is anazing.
Roland Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 If you buy / recouperate Perspex best cut with a Jig Saw using a very FINE METAL blade and take a bit of time and care. Yes many say you can't saw etc. which granted with a hand saw or saw it is very difficult to say the least, but the Fine metal blade with a jig saw works a treat.Just thought I'd pass that on to any one inteested etc.
Guest karl adams Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 i cut mine with a bench saw , but it is a quarter of an inch thick
phillips Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 very smart job there mate well done
Guest Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 one smart loft that for £ 13 .........well done -neat job .....agree you can cut the perspex sheets with jigsaw using fine metal blade done it myself loads times - take time doing it tho & when finished be careful when seperating the 2 pieces( sometimes they weld together ) just need a bit pressure to seperate if not a corner will shear off ...........
Guest Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Brill job on the loft and very smart. Great believer in recycling myself, especially wood. Its 2 brick garages I have, but the internal fitting out is all recycled wood and the roof light comes from the same source, same thick perspex, cut to size with a handsaw.
Guest karl adams Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 the cost of timber as gone up 6 months a go i payed £10.50 for an 8ftx4ft sheet of ply the same ply is now £16.50 so if i see any old sheet i get them and cut any bad off them and then store them as i would not like to prise them up in 6 months time
jimmy white Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 just shows you what you can do with a bit of thought, time, and effort [i was a great one for that, many years ago ;D] even now ,, when i pass this particular building, [demolished ] the heaps of good wood are unbeleivable ,, what a loft you could make yes, brilliant for that price ,, good luck to you

wayne77 Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Super job Karl you have talent there which is obvious from from the thread on your other loft. Is it easy to get hold of the perspex from bus stops? noticed few getting changed locally so may keep eyes open.
Guest karl adams Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 i had over 200 sheets of it last year all my mates went mad for some
Guest karl adams Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 boxs made of an old sheet of ply
