i for one found this site, and really enjoy the learning, helping and the chat

but have found lately that there is more abuse ridicule and slander

and think that its about time it stoped, or gets stopped

web master should put a ban on the members or moderators that are involved in this behaviour

I asked for something similar to this before but as yet no conclusions

i agree dodgeon be it moderator  or member [were all members] i have voted for a two week ban ,, but would follow that up with a full time ban ,if not adhered too ,,lifes too short to argue ,,and pigeons will keep you going for ages   so it really would be nice to have a happy peacefull forum about pigeons

I agree this is a great site, and long may it continue. but surely as in any open forum, problems occur and should be discussed and rectified if found to detrimental to the site

it was a post similar in nature to this last night that caused a lot of the trouble, so how can one be funny and the other not, why can one be removed and another not, maybe this is one reason why there is so much dissent as some seem to get posting what they want while others cant.

Tammy, i do not understand where you get that i have double standards? I did not find Grieg's post funny, it contained language that we all agree is unsuitable and as by his own admission it was not posted in humour. This post in my opinion was posted with tongue in cheek to try and change the dour feeling that was abounding on the forum yesterday evening. I do not find this posting offensive, as i feel i have taken it in the manner it was meant. Grieg has since apologised on another thread for his outburst, of which we are all guilty of having every once in a while. There was quite a bit of hypocrisy posted yesterday evening, NONE of which was mine. Some of the "insinuations" directed at Dovescot in particular i thought were bad, and i think some of the posts were in dire need of moderating. But, as i consider Duncan to be a friend of mine, i suppose i'll be dismissed as a "follower!" To be truthfull Tammy, i felt like leaving the site altogether yesterday myself, as the feeling on here is starting to turn bitter. I stand by what i said about Slugmonkey's post, it was the only post last night that made me smile, i did not find it offfensive, and i find it hard to accept that you of all people on here, with your own sense of humour, actually find it offensive either! I agree totally on your point regarding the fact that it stayed, as many posts similar are moved, and that is an issue on the forum.

 

AND BY THE WAY, as far as i'm concerned, we are still friends, i do not object to people having opinions on myself as long as they are directed directly to me, and that i can answer with my own points of view! As Duncan says, no-one including myself is above criticism. See you at Blackpool mate, first pint is on me!  ;D

I agree with you, i do think your statment regarding me having double standards was a bit strong. Particularly as up until responding to your post i had not commented on anything regarding Greig's, whilst i do agree wholeheartedly as to what he posted was unacceptable. As i have already stated we can all be guilty of our outbursts particularly when we feel we have been hard done by. Greig has been man enough to apologize for his outburst and i personally have no grievance with this lad whatsoever. Greig must have had his reasons for such an outburst as there is no smoke without fire. In my opinion, and at the risk of once again being called a "follower," the man i think has been the most hard done by, is Duncan. For what its worth, i hope the blatantly evident bitterness can be reversed quickly to prevent any further deteriation in site membership. As by some of the very posts on this thread people are tiring of the bickering. I also hope that those that have left return, and that members and moderator's alike can start treating each other with some dignity and respect and whilst saying that, i agree that there needs to be a more level state of conformity in what post/threads are moderated upon and what is not. i hope this reaches all with the same positive outlook as in the manner it is being meant.
