HOMER49 Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 was thinking that earlier we have a young lad who joined my club when he was 15 but is grandfather had to join as well even although i never seen the grandfather at the club i thought this was just my club rule is every club the same homer49? Hi Bart This is the LAW its called THE CHILD PROTECTION ACT iF the minor in question joined with his father.grandfather ect the club must accept them or be in breach of lottery grant rules The father ect would then be the responsible adult Having a minor in the club the club must still have a Child Protection Officer who has access to Social Security Officers and the Police Serious matter today verbal or sexual abuse Cheers Homer 49
aarden Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 why did the remaining members have a meeting ,when certain members couldnt attend cus there barred
Guest karl adams Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 i have joined 2 clubs this year but i will start raceing first young bird race as i think i will just be giveing money away to the older and top flying members at least with young birds i think it evens my chance to take a card
Merlin Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 My answers to original post as follows If meeting facilities are not available to all club members, one objection will surely render this meeting void. Use of community facilities by club makes this agreement somewhat dodgy by apparent bias against a member of community(11 year old) without good cause If these two avenues were unsuccessful you then proceed with Lottery Grant/s issue Again any decent person involved in staying stum and allowing a situation like this to develop especially at the top, should feel ashamed, nothing but nothing to my eyes would justify refusing an 11 year old the right and facilities to enjoy his birds.
