He can tell you, ?????? much of what I say is correct & factual, & not a lot of crap/bullshit  8) 8) 8).

PS. If your ever smart enough to come on down here, to see your brother etc I will arrange have a beer with you (2 Grumpy old men together) Wouldn't that be a scream  :);):P.

Enjoy.    He's never handled a pigeon since leaving these shores, I have already been  down to Oz, Have You? ;D

Started in 1962, bred my first YBs in the winter of '63, eggs on Xmas day & Boxing day, polythene on the front of the loft to keep out the snow.

Was top prizewinner and YB Ave winner with those YBs. Been downhill ever since, but the lower you go the higher you aim.

Well over 50 years, have been breeding and racing pigeons since, with what I term old fashioned methods,no chemicals, most of what my birds receive could be taken by myself, have found good and bad birds in all (strain names) some more so than others, many different methods practiced with  Mr Basket always having final say, someone above mentioned how far we have come, for myself having seen both sides, I think its one step forward, two steps backward,in most instances, and lest one might think, typical old guy, longing for days when he won a race, not so,my birds performed last season as well as ever they did,and hopefully this season, what I gained most from pigeons down those years is enjoyment, this is down to being just around the birds, the rest is secondary.

I raced with my grandfather in 1990 (I was 9), but he died in 1994. I took on some of his racers and many more from my uncle. I had some non-racers in 1995 and raced in 1996 YB, 1997OB 1997YB and then they picked up the pox. Inexperienced I gave them to my uncle and what he did with them I do not know. He might have saved some or culled them. I quickly pulled the shed down as they were causing to much arguing between me an my mother (at 16 I had no money so she was always paying for the races Plus daddy dear wasn't much help in training them, he trained them when he felt like it, ***hole) I reverted back to my tipplers but they got stolen. So hopefully this year I'm going to get some and start breeding for next years YB Races. Because I had some before I know what mistakes not to make again.  ;D
