maverick Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 EDDIE NEWCOMBE AND DALE NEWCOMBE LOOK AT THERE NATIONAL RESULTS IN SCOTLAND SECOND TO NONE
Guest Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I think it is pretty difficult to compare people who fly in different competitions, even more so when the fliers are generations apart, R Stoddart died in the 1950's after all, and J Kirkpatrick even before that, so comparing them with e.g. Jim Biss who passed on fairly recently, just isn't on in my opinion. My top fancier of the very few in the poll would be R Williamson. His results over that two-seas course into Ireland are phenomenal.
timbarra Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Geoff Kirkland, Jim Biss, Albert Babington and Bert Hession. thats my four but the list is endless.........

EAGLEOWL Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 theres been some great fanciers over the times bertie fletcher (ni) taffy bowen- jj horn - ken kippax the list is endless .all who where at the top of the tree i would say its impossible to name the best ,each area has champion pigeonmen some never known outside there area who have achieved some outstanding results .
Guest Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 i think these are the most difficult questions regarding good fanciers , there have been so many " greats" over the years [inc the ones on the poll] one of my great fliers and good freinds, are the wooff family , charlie, russel from new ollerton, and les from staindrop , darlington ,, these fanciers over decades have been top fed winners etc midland nat winners etc ,les won the louella car a few years ago , charlie and russel ,[well over 70 now,,,again top fed winners 2007, winning £8,800 ] least mentioned as they dont have books videos etc , just ordinary down to earth ,honest great pigeon men ,,,to me join they ranks of the" greats" i had a stray come in about 6 years a go(youngster)...dark cheq hen..belonging to les,i transferred it and it became one of the best race hens ive ever had. several fed cards and a constant good racer..last year xmas06-07 i let the birds out and she flew towards the roof and folded up and died in mid air. heart attack i pressume. boy was i sorry to see her go.
