rembrant2coo Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 thats just a fine team of young ones mate give them loads of room and you will not lose so much 40 is fine honest
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 and for the first time in years I only intend to take round about 40 or so as well, usually had a lot more but this year i intend to keep and breed less, earlier i gave away some stock birds and after i have bred what i am taking i will give some more away
Guest spin cycle Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 just 14. with 8 (or so) as a reserve later. i've not time to race ybs so its just a question of educating these and having some fun. i also have 30 pairs of racers which i want to cut back to 20 next year. otherwise you spend all your time looking after pigeons and run out of time/energy to race.

frank-123 Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 36 ybs for me this year and i ordered 50 rings !!!! only taking the one round this year then split my cocks and hens put the ybs on the darkness for the first time
Simeon Turner Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 40 for us, just weaned the last 4 today - all will be on darkness and will be split between 2 clubs, they will hopefully all race the full program and whatever comes through this will have earned a place for next year - baring disasters I would expect 25-30 to be there come the end of the season 8) 8) 8)
Guest IB Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Maybe 20 tops for racing, which is enough for me. Also later bred, only started hatching out from 21st; looks like 15 this round out of a possible 18 (2 clear eggs, my fault + 1 dud) and maybes 4 latebreds.
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 only taking 10 for racing this year give them 3 races unless something hapens outstanding then I will take a round of late breeds of my national birds maybe
