ON SPRING WATCH LAST YEAR THEY HAD A PAIR WITH A CAMERA FIXED ON THEM AND THEY WERE FEEDING THEIR OFF SPRING A YOUNG FOX CUB AND ALSO THESE BIRDS LIKE NESTING ON SEA CLIFFS SO COULD BE A POTENTIAL CONTENDER WITH PERCY FOR BREEDING PATCHES OF CLIFF FACES

YES THEY WERE NATIVE TO GREAT BRITAIN  UNTIL THEY WERE HUNTED  AND PERSECUTED FROM THESE SHORES . THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING INTRODUCED FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS NOW FROM BIRDS NATIVE TO NORWAY WHOS CLIMATE AND TERRAIN ARE SIMILAR TO OUR OWN . SO HERES HOPING THEY HAVE A SIGNIFICANT INPUT ON THE DECLINE OF THE RAPTOR PROBLEM WE HAVE THE NOW . ONLY TIME WILL TELL

the reason the rspb can release sea eagles is that they are native to brittain.

the rspb dont beleive the eagle owl is native to britain [i wonder why?]  lots of ornithologists disagree with this and reckon they are , but the rspb are the boss :-/

Couple of years back, Landward programme had a snippet on them. Just a passing mention that RSPB? and farmers on Harris? have reached agreement on compensation - farmers tolerate these birds on the Island (not sure which) but they do take lambs, and compensation is paid. Remarked down clubhouse at the time if it applies to lambs and farmers (precedent) should also apply generally to all birds of prey, and costs maybes help get action on pigeon predation?

The Sea Eagles will only breed close to their hunting grounds, coastal areas, large lakes,Percy can and will breed in all habitat, quarries, tall buildings, even city centres, with all the sky being their hunting area, the Eagle Owl being the supreme predator is the only Natural deterrent to the current existing imbalance in B.O.P. population, this being the reason for the dogged stance by R.S.P.B. European opinion is not so dogged, seeing Eagle Owls as part of aal our heritage.
