Guest Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Perhaps it may have something to do with the environmental changes that threaten us all! The whole globe is becoming unbalanced, with many species , such as whales, dolphins etc. being found floundering in alien places. Something is definitely going on! ........And there my friend I feel you could have hit the nail right on the head! I once found CRISS08 floundering by the bar in our local pub and he doesnot drink ,[some thing defenetly going on ]

invalidusername Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 This is probably stupid coming from someone with little experience and even less knowledge, but does the rush to get success - the pace of life - impatience, lead to some corners being cut, and forcing birds to do the job on our terms rather than theirs cause problems? I'm not in any position to judge as I don't race, but I've seen this in other fields. There are, of course loads of other factors that people with experienced views have covered, better than I could.

My family is from South Wales, and the damage was already done there. Her philosophy was that there was 'no such thing as society'. Well, she said it, and she made it so. Look what her government spawned. I just hope that when she finally pops her clogs, 'society' won't have to pay for her State funeral.

As ye sow, so shall ye reap. When she goes, i'll shed as many tears for her as she did for the mining communities she bludgeoned into obscurity. Absolutely none.........

Well, there's a whole new thread for the Thatcher sociopath. Like you, I'll leave it there, otherwise the pigeons will be obscured :-)
jimmy white Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 With more pigeon flyers using the ETS, as time goes on, and with yb losses (and obs) doubling and trebling in the last few years. Is there any chance, that this modern electronic equipment, could be a homing deterrent to our birds? Nobody knows how our birds "home". But we may be disturbing their natural homing ability, by "chipping" our baskets the wrong way. Food for thought . Vic. first of all vic, i admire your wit,, pmsl scottish strain -flying scotsman ;D ;D ,,and the milk ;D ;D ;D,,, but as your post suggests it is an interesting subject,,,but keep chipping the baskets though ;D wood chips not any other kind [im sure my 24 stone mate , hope he doesnt see this puts another kind of chips in the baskets] [he hides his chips , hes an eataholic ;D] over the last 15-20 years yb losses have steadily got worse , my opinion first is were now breeding birds with less constitution, mollycoddling them, medicating them willy nilly,,,but maybe this is just one pointer to the horrendous slaughter of the innocents each year now, it does make you wonder at times, whats going through the air , with this modern technology ,its a pity the scientists [im just an amatuer one ;D] could not get together WITH the pigeon fliers and go into many different things , the losses were still gong up b4 the ets [Every one Trying Something] but proof , is the word,, and we have none
jimmy white Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 my clock didnt interfere with the birds ,,just me ,,,the big hand hit me on the head ;D ;D ;D this came from a scottish strain ,,the strain station
