Guest scoobybob Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Did not know if to go for sputnik or bob wire, So took the chance on the bob wire.
carlsberg Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 should be very effective for quick trapping
DAVIDL Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 i think your doing a great job in getting your loft ready...keep up the good work.
crazy pigeon boy Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 looks very good mate you should do well with it
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Looks great but why do you need as many bob wires ? you might get the birds coming home on a race day and trying to decide where to go through, I had a stall trap with 7 entrance holes in it and sometimes found the birds were undecided in which hole to enter so I I closed off 4 of them and found the birds wasted less time, just my experience though
Castleview Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Nice trap. I made a similar one but on a dowelled door.

Guest scoobybob Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Thanks for the tip Billy...Just trebled the amount of felt nails I had tacked in. Better safe than sorry as you say.... I am now considering if I should get rid of the bob wire traps and just put a 4/5 trap sputnik type in the middle section of the traps. The two end sections could be converted into a larger release area.
Guest scoobybob Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Nice trap. I made a similar one but on a dowelled door. Seems you have now overtook me in our quest for pigeons.... I like the aviary something I must consider. BTW. Nice write up on "Caesar Lofts"

Nice write up on "Caesar Lofts" I think you are going in the right direction, getting your loft sorted before you get the birds, better that than getting new birds and banging away with your latest idea But you will always be adapting or changing it as time goes on, best done when the birds are settled
Castleview Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Castleview have you got any birds yet Yeah, two camile cardons. Purchased a lovely CHeq Cock from Vallance. Used to belong to Geoff Clare, and Vallance has loaned me a red hen to pair to the chequer

I had to raise the nest boxes today because the birds kept fighting on who's kipping up there tonight. I can see why so many people say YEARLINGS ARE A NIGHTMARE. Reminds me of TEENAGERS ;D ;D ;D No offence to any of you who are pigeon fanciers, but we have two around the house. Never do as they are told, think they rule the roost. Like I said to the birds, I'm the boss, you're the employees!
