Hi,

Am I right to understand that there are several difference types of races, eg. sprint, short and long distance?  So what pigeons come under each category?

I know for instance that Logans are long distance.

Cheers

Many breeds can compete in all. Jan Aardens are distance, but you can use them in sprint races for training. Van Reets are good sprinters and middle distance, some people have pushed them to distance. Like Matt said, check louella.

as ive said b4, in my opinion we put too much emphasis on so called" breeds"   i would much prefer   pigeons  bred off a few generations of the type of races you wanted to go for i,e  distance birds bred from birds that have proven they can win at the distance ,,,,,,,sprint birds that are bred from birds that have proven winning at sprint , then theres off course , setting them up for the type of races you want to have a go at  :)
