Diydave Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 i hoped this rule topic might generate a few ideas, its good to see people putting their opinions over, i agree that the stray situation is a problem , its an embaresment at times. i like the idea of volountry stamping, or telephone rings so that the person getting a stray knows the owners wishes. the only downfall to this is if the general public get a stray in we need to show our commitment and maybe have a compulsery stamp, stateing report to the RPRA ? for all that do not want to put their own contact info on ?
pjc Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Make council electable, including the RPRA management anualy by open ballot.
Guest strapper Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 i think there should be a uk wide ruling on wingstanps..wether they want them back or not. i understand that nwhu or the nehu dont have to stamp?...is this true? also any bird with a fresh rubber on without the bird being wing stamped, that said flyer will automatically be suspended for the next race after reported....after that any other birds from same fancier from a further race on...3 race ban..if after that suspension.
pjc Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Strapper, I think the SHU have a rule to not wing stamp! But like the suspension race by race idea but hard to implement!

Guest IB Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Was updating a Legal book the other day, and had a quick skim over Section on Animals. A lost animal is still the owner's responsibility (that we already know, many posts point out a lost bird is still owner's bird) but what the Law has to say about it is that if the owner doesn't take appropriate steps to reclaim it, then it is Abandonment. The fine for that is in the region of £2000 (I think).. puts Amtrack's £35 in perspective. Maybe persistent offenders in addition to suspension should also be reported by the Union to the appropriate authorities?
