What should we be giving our birds whilst feeding youngsters in the nest.  Can we give cider vineger,  probiotics,  lemon juice,   grape fruit seed extract and things like that ?   :-/

I don't see why any of the products mentioned would be an issue.

I find sticking SMA powdered baby milk to the corn gives them everything they need with regards vitamins, minerals etc.

PROBIOTICS I discovered this by accident as I had some young in a race loft that were getting probios and they were NOTICEABLY better birds I try to give probios during rearing and breeding

But what about cider vinegar,  lemon juice and GSE to stop bacteria in the gut ?

IMO - cider vinegar is not good for Ybs in the nest as it is hard on the crop, especially with scaldies. I give them Gemthepax over the corn twice a week and it works great. It is OK to give them cider vinegar when weaned, i give it 2 times a week from they are weaned and throughout the whole season. I used to give SMA baby powder also but went off it although it has everything they need. SL

Baby milk power is great mate, cider vinegar not a problem after there been weaned just don't over do it,

Never ever give cider vinegar when youngsters are in nest mate. after weaning as the lads say are ok

i wouldnt have a prob with any of them some i dont see what the need would be but nothing wrone with them but cant beat a good breed&wean mix with some added protien

how do you get powder to stick to corn m8 ????

add a oil or you can make milk into a paste add it to corn leave it overnight to dry and feed it to them next day
