Guest marksimpson Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 can anyone on this great site give me some history regarding the chocolate meulemans jannsens and also if they have done anything with this breed yours in antisipation mark.
Hogni Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Below are articles/interview about Meulemans, he talks a littla bit about the chocolate birds and if i recall right about why they are not in his loft today. About 10-15 years a fancier here in Iceland imported 6 birds from Louella, to cut a long story short, they did nothing here. http://www.schaerlaeckens.com/upload/part03.htm http://www.schaerlaeckens.com/upload/part04.htm
Michael J Burden Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Simo you not just got some from Doncaster have you? They are Muleman sprinters but in the USA and Australia they are racing them a lot further than sprint racing. I know an old boy not too far from me that raced them down to the coast with great success, choclates and all.
just ask me Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 dont know of anyone that really done a whole lot with them like to see birds winning in the last few year too not 10 20 years ago

OLDYELLOW Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 if you have 2 chocolates cross them anything Jansen based the blue chequers and pencils will be fine you may get the odd good red but the chocolates will only breed breeders none that i had would fly , i have seen them in results but far and few between
