Just an update on how Billy is doing, he just got word of a new house which he hopes to get the keys for in about 3 weeks. It is a one bedroomed cottage with wheel chair access right on the edge of a wooded area in a quiet cul de sac about 2 miles from us,

Looking great on the outside, he weighed in at 7st 7lbs on friday at his weekly check up and he gets a full MOT next thursday to see how good he is doing on the inside :-/

This is the heaviest he has been in a long time, bearing in mind he was down to 4st 10lbs not that long ago, Matron Chickadee is looking after his diet and he hopes to get heavier than our Kim who is 7st 10lbs

Just read the whole post , Dovescot and carol , i can only say what great people you are and the lengths you have gone too for your friend Billy , well done both of you , and i hope Billy gets better everyday . And what a lucky bloke to have true friends like yourselfs.

Thanks for all your kind comments, but the rewards from helping Billy are well worth the effort, he really is a great guy, apart from when him and Chickadee gang up on me  :'( :'( :'(

Cheers Fifer, he weighed in at 7st 10lbs today and he may get the keys to his new house next Monday so all in all things are looking really good for him

Billy had his MOT today and passed, he is up to 7st 12lbs a huge difference from 4st 12lbs when he was at his lowest wieght. He is now heavier than Kim and his goal is to double his lowest wieght and get to 9st 8lbs and the way Chickadee is feeding him he is well on his way :)

He would like to that everyone for all their best wishes and prayers as they have really paid off and he hopefully gets the keys to his new house on Monday GREAT I WILL GET MA COUCH BACK ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

DOVEScott, this is brilliant news.  When you think back to how he was not that long ago, it's miraculous.  At the end of the day, it's down to Billy but surely he'd never have made this great recovery without you both.  Oh, that we could all have such friends. :-)

Billy gets the keys to his new house tomorrow sadly not enough room in the small garden for pigeons so they will definately be getting raced from my place, so now we can get going and set up the partnership, well once I get him moved in, I am going to make him a wall cote and keep some white rollers in it :)

Really pleased about Billy he is certainly a fighter thats for sure.

He just wants to cut back on the workload if he recovers, he will never get back to full fitness due to the cancer which gladly is not progressive at the moment, he now only weighs 4 and a 1/2 stone but he is a fighter.

He will almost certainly have to move house, so I plan to use the loft he got from Ferry and just keep a small team of racers for him.

 

So anybody taking the rollers and tumblers will be helping him out as he sees it :-/

 

best of luck to you billy, from 4 and a half stone ,and now up to 8 stone , absolutely great ,, youve certainly been through the mill, but great to hear your comming on leaps and bounds , and also getting a house now , lets hope you manage a wee loft of fancy birds , and able to race once more at dovescotes, i must admit dovescote and chickadee have done you proud,,, all the very best billy and carry on the improvements  [leave the pies though ;D] cheers mate, wish you well

Great news billy got the all clear today for the cancer and his pigeon lung is stable and there is a chance it may improve, he has also been cut down on his insulin injections by almost half.

I have almost finnished his house and he hopes to move in this w/e :)
