Unfortunately, Bluey has been AWOL for 5 days.  He's had a few days where he's stayed out overnight, and the longest he disappeared was 3 days.  So this is a record.  As long as nothing drastic has happened to him, he's getting a ready source of food from somewhere!  I suspect he may be going to a local loft somewhere.  Junior has been following him and has stayed out the odd night too.

When Bluey does come back (if he does), I'm going to keep him in for a week or so and give him a good talking to about knowing on what side his bread's buttered!

Maybe they don't like my shed :-(

Got home from work this evening, and Bluey was back :-) A few peanuts to welcome him back.  I don't think I'll let him out for a few days, even though he and Junior will probably be scratching at the sputnik door to go out in the morning!

Phil - Junior came back the same day on Monday, but went for 2 days mid week.  He went out yesterday morning, and only came back today.  I have to say, Bluey looks really well, probably had a real soak.  But he was scoffing the peanuts down.  If he has got a girlfriend, it's probably not a great idea to keep him in then?

Tiny is doing really well.  Name is now Berwyn in honour of Wales - think it's white head (?) but that's an understatement as it's more than the head that's white, of course !!  He's pretty tame with me (not like Henny Penny, who hates me!)

I would keep him in but keep letting junior out and hope that knowing bluey is there may stop his straying off.

Keep his food short and he won't go far.

Has Berwyn been out?

Phil - thanks, as ever.  I wouldn't have thought of that, so will give it a go.

Berwyn hasn't been out yet - he sometimes sits in the sputnik, but not every day, so I was a bit nervous about letting him out, just in case he doesn't know the look of the garden.  Would you suggest I do it quickly?  Presumably, I should concentrate on him alone?  He's such a lovely looking bird, and a big boy.  I think he'll be the biggest in the shed.

so how many you got now then david

There's Bluey, Junior, Penny and Berwyn - that's a lot for me :-)  Bluey will let me do anything with him, Junior pecks me and puts his head down and his back end up, Penny whips me with her wings, and Berwyn is very tame with me (usually).

Will get a pic of all of them them up soon :-)

ps:  I've also inherited a baby collared dove which someone brought to me two days ago.  Magpie chased it into a window.  Keeping my distance and only putting food and water into the hutch inherited by Bluey - but garden rather than kitchen this time! It can sort of fly, but has no lift, and ends up in the corner of the garden (cat city).  Think it's missing a tail feather or two.

It's like a rescue centre here !!!  :-)

I'm certain that more than one are missing a tail feather or two, in shall we say? A fairy Story!
