Guest Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Ted go to the windows icon , control panel, Programs, uninstall a program. When you open the uninstall panel sort your programs in to date order (click on installed on at the top of the dates and it will allow you to sort by date) bringing the latest to the top. Are there any programs there that you installed just prior to having this problem or are there any programs there that were installed there that you do not recognise? If so I would uninstall and then run a clean up (open a browser click tools and delete history and check all the boxes, then run disk cleaner and if you have a decent anti virus run its quick cleaner, then reboot) Ted run windows update, if there are any recomended updates install them. Ted the other reason could be spyware on your computer, I used to run anti virus and spyware programs, but the spyware programs run their own spyware. Since I moved to Mcaffee, spyware is no longer a problem. By the way with vista as a standard you have windows defender running, if you also have another firewall /antivirus runing as well it will make your machine vunerable, you should only have one anti virus running on your machine.

Guest Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 do a system restore go bck about 2 weeks it will go k for system restore go to start, programes, accessories, system tools, then system restore Amar, yes can be done, but try everything else first and if you do a restore go to the nearest date you know when the machine was working ok, don't go back further than you need to and then make sure you run windows update and anti virus update because you may have taken out the latest updates
