Michael J Burden Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I watched tonight with a tear in my eye my birds gradually disappear from the sale list. As they vanished I knew they were now gone. I wish all the buyers best of luck with these birds, well done. Anyone who missed out, sorry. The amount raised was £2,645 before expences are taken off. Look forward now to seeing htem gone and then the equipment next week.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Good luck Michael. All the best, Paul.
Guest Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I remember someone writing about a very good freind of mine and his partners when they sold off quite a few years ago now. It went something like...... "granted, the boys will be all the richer for the birds being sold, but as they travel back north heading home in their car, one can not help but wonder, will their thoughts be on the few shillings earned, or will they be thinking about next season, and their non-involvement come race time?" Knowing my mate as well as i do, the money never came into it. I know your predicament has forced this on you Michael, and it comes across in your postings that the monetary aspect is nothing to you compared to the birds. I hope you can get better, quickly, and that your return to our wonderful sport if possible, is sooner rather than later. It saddens me to hear of situations like this, and i sincerelly wish you well. Good luck for the future. PS; you had some really nice quality birds.
