sputniks are ok but when i get ets im going to build my own trap , the reason been the birds have to drop hard on to there legs which in my mind is un-natural for the birds , and after a long race it must be uncomfortable for them

metal fencing wire when you buy bobs you can buy with the wire with them from most places

cheers old yellow , just purchased mine local and they dont stock the wire so i will have to look out for the fencing wire

try your local garden centre or fencing companys worse comes to worse im sure some green plant supports would be strong enough to hold the weight of the bobs  :)

if i get my "new" loft sorted out in time and start breeding, then it will be a stall trap for the yb [with a t3 clock and quick start at least i have a fighting chance]for the old birds maybe open door, but more than likely a sputnik trap because thats what they are used to[and i still have to break them to the new loft when it is up ;D ;D ;D ;D

The quickest way to trap is through the open door onto an ETS pad. If you do not have ETS, then the quickest is via speed traps. If you decide on speed traps it is vital that you get them sited properly. There has to be enough room for you to get under the landing board and work comfortably, but the shorter the drop for the birds the better. I put a shelf inside the loft slightly lower than the entrance. It acted like a tray on which I scattered seed and a couple of peanuts. The birds rocketed in through that. These days I have ETS. Again it is very important that the birds are not asked to drop down far. So a couple of my mates have used a sputnic fixed so that the birds have a fairly level run in. Believe me, that's fast. Multiple cockings wihin a second.
