carlsberg
sorry for hijacking your thread but my dad has had a disaster today trying to settle his yb's we moved his loft last week and he decided to try them out today (nothing to do with me .lol) but he has 5 out of 36 back , 4 came back in ok and he got 1 back from his old loft position but there were a few more that wouldn't trap so in all he still has about 25 unaccounted for mainly x rings they all have phone rings on so if found please report
catch that pigeon
Probably a daft question, but do you have many windows in your shed so that the birds could see outside? Yes there is a side window of which I had spars put up so they could see out
invalidusername
That's good, so that they can sit and see the garden and surroundings and get their bearings. Remember to keep them hungry when going out and use food to entice them out and in. Well, that's one way, anyway :-)
Guest IB
Looks like we could be doing with creating 'sticky' thread(s) for successful methods for settling pigeons. Think settling 'young birds out for the first time', 'breaking young birds to a new loft', and 'breaking old birds to a new loft' are categories that might need to be handled differently?
