PIGEON_MAN Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 hi can anyone help me ....i have an opportunity to buy an tauris ets off a fancier....is it straight forward or not....is the unit registered to the fancier or just the rings...also how do we go about getting a club unit....we will be using it in the nfc races only..as our club wont have ets....boohoo..... can anyone help me by pointing me in the right direction,,,i have emailed tommo on the off chance he can help... please help jon Ask the guy if he registered the unit with his local region if he did you will have to change it,the rings if he used them will be issued to his birds and be inside the clock so its probably better to buy new rings unless someone will delete them from the clock, but then you will have to get someone to allocate them to your pigeons.
jonj1978 Posted February 15, 2009 Author Report Posted February 15, 2009 so if nfc have the club unit will they help me register the birds rings... thanks guys
cowman Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 as its second hand get a letter from the fancier your buying it from stating you have bought it from him as this will help you if you are using his rings so you can prove they have not been stolen off stray birds when you get them deactivated . he has to inform his/her region of any changes with the ets too all you need to do it write the make and the serial numbers of clock pads etc etc and send it with your name address loft number to your region sec .
PIGEON_MAN Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 so if nfc have the club unit will they help me register the birds rings... thanks guys I,m afraid not it,s usually done by your club sec,or whoever does the ets in your club,as you say your club doesn,t have ets so it could be a problem.
gangster Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 i just sent my clock 21 ray knight he updated it and put my details in to it simple as that...sec can do same with rings but i think you need a letter off original owner 2 use the rings...
PIGEON_MAN Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 If you get in touch with the person who is in charge of your local NFC clock station and tell him your situation he may say that he will allocate the rings for you,its worth a try,I know I would if someone came to me and asked.Where exacly are you suituated or if you tell me which marking station and clock station you will be using I will give you a contact number.
retired Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Why not go the whole hog Jon and learn to set the ETS and then your local club would have to have it as you then have someone willing to do it. Which i am sure is enough for the club to be forced to accept it - I wouldnt spend that sort of money on something to use 5 times a year. The members in your club may eventually come around to the ETS once you have it in the club.
jonj1978 Posted February 15, 2009 Author Report Posted February 15, 2009 just to clarify i have to get rings registered at club level ...doh... can i not get it done at nfc clocking station...is that not classed as a club...?? sodding confusing this malarky.... if nfc basketing is at sheffield and they have a basketing unit will tauris give each clocking station a club unit to sort the rings out etc..?
