the 7 lofts fly in 1 club, the other 2 with an other club.

perhaps in that case its not just about which allotment but which club you prefer ? weigh it all up and good luck with your choice :)

the reason i am asking is that i have a choice of 2 allotment sites,1 is 4 miles away the other is 3 miles away.the 1 that is 4 miles away has 7 lofts on it and the 1, 3 miles away has 2 lofts on it,this allotment has a much bigger space to work with , :-/privacy etc.

give me your thoughts. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

I've been lucky since starting with pigeons i've always had back garden lofts. If i was to choose i would select the site which is more secure,or even the site with most lofts security/safety in numbers.Lindsay

it doesnt mater how many lofts are on the site or how secure they are

if they want to break in they will , i was on a site with 6 lofts on we all had keys for the gate

they were very secure but we still had break in,s . if i was you i would choose the sit with 2 lofts on it

purely cos of the least birds flying round it can be a bloody night mare , just my thoughts , kev

the allotment that has 7 lofts is club owned, the allotments with 2 are private owned.

Magic if you have the first bird to the allotments not so good if yer last  ;D

My mate Graham White from Dumbarton flew birds to allotments with 7-8 lofts on them ...looked really good

Take the one more convenient for you; take into account access to the actual spot, water supply, safetyfrom vandals,  carrying distances for food / birds, positioning of loft south facing etc, size does it meet your needs, if you intend expanding which is better, repairs which will be easier to repair in terms of access, atmosphere on allotment which seems the more amiable, emergencies if you get stuck which is likely to give you help / support, drag which is the better location. At the end of the day it has to be down to your personal preference
