Hi just wanted to know when is the best time to start breeding ready for next year as someone told me you cant get 09 rings til Jan so when should i pair the birds up?  :-/

i pair up 27th of november but this year im gonna start 1st of december as i missed a few young birds this year

Interesting to hear the pairing up dates. Do you offer light at all when the birds are breeding early?

yes i give my stock light so they are in 16hrs light a day

about 10 days before you pair up should do it

yes  i dim the lights,i turn the lights on 10 to 14 days before

my lights go on for 12 hours a day 1 month before pairing then 16hours a day 2 weeks before pairing then stay on from 6am to 10 pm untill summer

i take it you mean pair stockbirds  up??  approx 5 weeks b4 you get rings to be safe, but wouldnt advice mating race birds up then

ive always paired up xmas day and never had any trouble with youngbirds
