I have often times pondered what would be the outcome if say you had reared your young and then

put them on the darkness say end of February, just say you had them on darkness from natural darkness in the evening

until 11am and you kept them like this for about 2 months, you then reversed the process letting them

have the natural sunrise ie wakining at sun up and then Darkening the loft at say mid day, I do realise this might be stressfull on the birds

but would there be any advantage in doing this if one had the time

I was always of the opinion that birds must see the sun rise, and set, I also realise that the times would have to be tweeked

as the day gets longer? once again this is me thinking outside the box, I know some will say if its not broke dont fix it

but plenty of fanciers were flying the darkness system and cleaning up in clubs for years before it became known to

the rest of us mere mortals

PS dont shoot the mesenger

Patty, Putting ybs on the darkness, and taking the blinds down when night falls, will guarantee they will see the sun rise. But to let them see the sun set also is impossible, is it not?
