joe61 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 tim you might get them from the chemist or try a vet but im not to sure mate oh happy days
Guest Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Not sure if this helps but i buy syringes from the Vets as my dog is diabetic so i have to syringe the insulin into him twice a day. I'm sure the vet does all sizes of syringes.
maverick Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 ask at chemist tell them what you want them for most are helpful
Guest shadow Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 used to get my from the vaccine supplier
Guest racer Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 my brother is a diabetic i will see if i can get some of him for you
Guest Vic Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 When I injected mine a month or so ago for paratyphoid, I had the same problem. I first tried Boots, showing them the bottle and instructions, only to be knocked back, through all the druggies running free, in todays climate no doubt. Then I tried my own pharmacy. They supplied me with ten x 5ml 0.33mm (29g) x 12.7mm micro-fine insulin syringes. They were slightly larger than the ones reccommended on the bottle, but sufficient for the jab at hand. ;D If you can't get 'em, I will gladly post you 4 with no cost. Just pm me. Vic.
shotgun tim Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 im diabetic but mine are too fine for the vaccine to go through it broke the plunger
Guest IB Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Never had occasion to get needles, always came with my vaccine. Would have thought needles for use in humans would be too big for birds? Vic has put up sizes he got. The needles that come with Nobilis vaccine are 20G x 1/2 inch, 0.9 x 12mm. Does anyone know what these figures refer to, and are the figures given in two scales, or one?
Red.Yoyo Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 I bought a box of 100 from the company that sells the vaccine through the BHW a few years back. Give them a bell
jimmy white Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 i manage to get free needles from my vet , if needed, can only suggest you try chemist [with some proof what you want them for] or any government avian vet,, if short of needles , well worth wiping the needle with an alcohol wipe , b4 doing each pigeon, either for paratyphoid or paramyxo
