Guest Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 dave certainly if youve got good blood keep it as close as you can but you must agree how many fanciers find out they have a good breeding pair say before 5 to 6 years or older a lot of years have passed the best years ; how many janssen strains are there but davie janssen himself liked to cross his birds was janssen not 100 years old by god must be using a lot of dye to get any kind of bloodline and dont forget where did they come from before he got them more likely my bird 5 0 clock rock came grand mother came off a stray the father of storm queens SIRE WAS A STRAY and all the national winners that came off this family was crosses j bruce c fraser marriot rene boisard puttries a bruce halls vanhee davie rose stan biss ironside doddie ross and a bl---y lot more and every loft is the same but at no time did i say not to buy them if you like the name there selling them under go for it my self i will be looking for a long distance bird as long it does what i want and thats not rocket science but either way dave good racing 2009 cheers 8) LOL, cracking post Walter! I've been taken a few times in my life Walter, no doubt about that. Though that was mainly in my younger, more naive days, lol! Like to see for myself my introductions if i can now though, handle them, etc, before proceeding if i'm able. Fashionable strain names mean nothing to me now, a lesson duly learned the hard way. Don't get me wrong, i agree with a lot of what you say, i just feel that the bloodline can be managed in the correct hands. I'm like you now, distance birds and distance racing are my goals! My best birds at the minute are of the old Dr. Barker descent, definately not fashionable but since we started timing them in at the nationals, there seems to be a great deal of interest in them, lol! Good racing to you too Walter, really interesting posts though mate! Dave

Whitenight you are most welcome to visit me too. I do also like to take care of hygiene within my loft enviroment and issue people with little blue overshoes (the ones builder wear) so the neighbours think they got smurfs living next door... ;D ;D ;D
