EYEBROWS Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I've got some 20 foot conifers dotted in the gardens around the loft, I was wondering what the legislation is regarding them, I used to have a good view of the birds on their arrival but over the last couple of years i've found myself peering around these conifers, They are not taking any light but are causing me a problem, Any help/advice is appreciated Thanks Eyebrows
Guest numpty01 Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 get um removed as law says 3 metres high no more so cut um down the enviormental peaple will assit you on matter
Guest joshdonlan Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 just trim the tops off them with hedgecutter, no problems at all
pjc Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 if they are in your garden the cut them down but if they are in neighbours gardens ask them or offer to take the tops out.
Back garden fancier Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Yes, are they yours or the neighbours?
sapper756 Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 yes, I believe there is a legal height that these need to be, request your neighbour to trim them to the legal height, or offer to do so yourself
just ask me Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 these things should be banned from growing fair enough if u live on your own with no houses around but apart from stopping light they put green all over the place when it rains
EYEBROWS Posted April 9, 2009 Author Report Posted April 9, 2009 I was led to believe that you should ask your neighbour first, if they refuse to reduce the height you can let the council take over but you have to give the council £500 to take it up, if you win and they have to reduce the height you get your £500 back !!!!!
