i disagree with that statement, good birds will always come to the front true, but horses for courses as they say i know my  birds dont do well with the wind up their backsides ,but on their nose try and beat me .they are  not bad birds in a blow home just cant handle the wind behind them simple as that

would totally agree  certain birds for certain races  would u also they in general that birds with wider flights do better with the wind behind them just something i noticed  :-/

Do you reckon?  Thats why George had a dictaphone last time he came to manchester to see Les Green!! :P :P :P

Ive never been to Mcalonys loft but ive looked at the results, long and hard believe me, now in one race i think 200 mile?  he took the 1st 9 out of 6000+ birds yet in between those 9 birds was 7 minutes, now either they live in a valley or an awesome spot, or there racing against a load of numptys, you tell me as you know where they are?

;D ;D with the prevailing west wind they do live in a awesome spot, but they win even when it's a fair wind for all of the fed and taking many of the top 10 positions at the same time.

i believe the race you were talking about john was from Ripon 160 miles approx.

hotrod, your right what your saying mate, horses for courses, the statement i was making was

your good birds will come to the front,i got the impression people were saying anything can win a fast race,ie  (fantail race) i myself had 45 birds away, in our club you pool 3 birds,my

1st was an all pooler as was my 3rd winning all pools out of 484 birds sent by club members, ps  this bird also won the first race.
