my opinion, both, without both you wont win regular especialy  over many years,,,, but one is as important as the other

I would say more management than pigeon. A top flyer can win with almost anything but when in a club full of top flyers the birds become more important.

Jimmy, without a good pigeon you won't win, with a good pigeon and poor management you can win, with a poor pigeon and great management you can't!

The pigeon is the most important because if you have good pigeons it don't mean you will win but at least there is a chance, but if you have poor pigeons you won't win, imo.

id say it depended on the discipline, more management on the shorter races but leaning more on the bird at 500+miles

I think the balance shifts from fancier to pigeon as the distance increases.

I think there is no doubt, a good manager would get more out of any type of pigeon over an avergae manager, if it's a poor pigeon there is no doubt that there are some fanciers that will get the best out of them; but in my opinion, a decent manager with good pigeons, will beat every time a super manager with poor pigeons

I think good management is having a routine and sticking to it, understanding what makes your birds tick and understanding how and what to feed them to get the best out of them along with understanding how to motivate them.

Following a route that will get the best out of your pigeons, there is no DMS for pigeons so we have no defined benchmark that is tested and proven, so the over used saying in pigeon racing 'many roads lead to Rome' (though they do ;D)would appear to be the standard

whos to say parents werent off a line of  fed winners   ;D ;D ;D ;D :D

Would have to be management 80% as the top class fanciers would not keep any crap,as they would identify the crap pretty sharpest and dispose of them.but on the other hand the average fancier would not have the experience or the vision to be so ruthless in selection,therefore lagging behind and achieving little in relation to the better fanciers.A good pigeon will only achieve its potential in the hands of the fancier with the appropriate management skills.

Jimmy I believe you will find some of the finest breeders in barns, there are some pigeons that can't home from a mile but are top producers, some of them end up in barns!!

iknow exactly what your meaning alan theres good pigeons and bad pigeons, theres good managers and bad managers,, getting the two good combinations  together  certainly will give you more chance
