maybe just a wee tip for novices ,, we had many gimmicks, medicines, you name it at b/pool , most cost a fortune, but the most important item , could not be bought at b/pool is fresh air :)  

in these days now of darkenning yb,s i have noticed many fanciers with too many  young birds  for the size of loft , too little ventilation for the amount of yb,s ,,,,, my opinion is do not get pulled into that trap,,,,have  less y,birds and more ventilation.  your yb.s will go through less stress and have more rest ,in completing their body moult ,    without daily fresh air, and cleanliness , pigeons  will never come into superb racing condition ,,only my opinion :)
