Guest Vic Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Let's not forget our fallen ones, the thousands lost in France, I talk of not, the brave men past, but pigeons lost at Nantes. PRESSurised we cut the strings! Instead of holding over, With broken hearts and tired wings, ne'er made the cliffs of Dover. :'( Beast of a Wind The Frogs will feast, to say the least, If the breath of death doth blow North East. Let's hope the weather changes.

Guest Vic Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Here is one I read as a kid, liberating my pigeons from Hale Village Church cemetary, Nr Liverpool, over 58 years ago. It made me think, frightenned me maybe, because the grave was over 300 years old. The Childe of Hale, a well known character of the time, is buried in the same churchyard:- Consider ye, our sudden fall, Silly bloomin' mortals all. Ye realise not, who read this stone, How soon the case wil be thine own. I doubt if it will be readable now, after the last time I read it. Perhaps my optimistic thinking of life, stems from this old tombstone. :'( ;D
