peterpau Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Was going to but a pal of mine tried them last season and said they caused too many broken eggs, so thought I best not. Tobbacco is the way to go mate. Keeps all lice and mites at bay. If you have broken eggs tiz calcium defficiency not bacca. Don't see any grizzles
Guest SPORTKA Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Hi Peter, I have paired the grizzle hen up to a grizzel cock that I had gifted from Paul Stokes, they make a smashing looking pair of pigeons, shes laid this week, but only the one egg,we think it may be that as a young bird she took a bad knock when competing from Taunton, shes back in top condition now and is happy sitting the one egg, so will have to wait and see what happens at the next round, I will send you some picys in next few weeks once youngster hatches.
Guest SPORTKA Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks for your comments, Andrew and Jimmy best of luck to you both for 2009 season.

Stick a dummy egg under he,r along with the one egg. She's more likely to sit the 18 days and also, the dummy egg gives the young baby something to lean against and helps reduce the risk of splayed leg.
joe61 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 sportka slip a dummy egg in as with one egg might sit a bit tight and crush it oh happy days
Guest SPORTKA Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks guys I will slip one under her today.
