nmd Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 one of my young hens has laid 2 eggs. my first y/b race is on the 14th july. obviously i will not let them hatch, but should i just get rid of the eggs or would it motivate her more, and the cock to keep them.
Guest peter.j Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 id keep them and youve got them sitting 10/11 days...pete
ALF Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 If she has laid out the road just leave her to sit on them and train her & him as normal and good luck in your 1st race 8) 8)
OLDYELLOW Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 have had this happen to my ybs , personaly id swap for plastics as hen will only re lay
nmd Posted July 3, 2008 Author Report Posted July 3, 2008 thanks for the help, think ill swap them for plastic eggs.
jimmy white Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 swap them for plastics or china eggs ,you can fool a yb to sit a long time ,,,even putting a yb under it for a race then back on eggs on return,,,,, also, sometimes worth [after sitting tight] putting another 3 eggs under it , itll keep trying to tuck them under it , from both sides , can work with the cock to , but again, birds must be fit first of all
nmd Posted July 7, 2008 Author Report Posted July 7, 2008 i have put plastic eggs under it mate. so she will not reject the yb if it is under her? will she feed it?
pigeonaa Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 put plastic eggs under her on a fri afternoon put couple worms inside she think they hatcing
