Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 hi i was just wondering what is the best food for racing pigeons. Would you have two sets of food for the pigeons for short distance racing and for long distance.
b.massey Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 So much to choose from. I usually make my own feeding up. Depends so much on the time of year and the goings on in the loft. I buy bags of beans, barley maze and seeds and make my own up from that.
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 how can you make up your own feedings
b.massey Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Buying in various bags of seeds, maples, beans, barley and adding as much or little of each
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 i didn't know that you could make your own feeding up u learn something new everyday
Guest Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 stick to the commercial mixes like verselaga till you see what you want or you think they need less of this and more of that
just ask me Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 u really have asked a question that has a multitude of answers on types of answers some pll do some dont change there feed some break down the grub at the start of the week then build them back up again towards race then the weather can come into account i.e wind direction a race from 200 mile can turn into a right disaster while they can fly in from 500 mile no prob hours that they will be on the wing will probably be your biggest decider on what u should be feeding really every thing has to be taken into account most of the commercial feeding companies have a guide for u to on sorry about post think i might have given u more questions than answers but hope it helps a bit
