chris h Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 i got one of my ybs back tonight with its crop cut wide open.it was feeding and the seeds were falling back onto the floor.has anyone ever stitched up a pigeon.and did it survive?

I HAD ONE THE SAME AS YOU I DIDNT STITCH IT I GLUED IT... ITS DOING FINE
Guest ShaneGate Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Hello Chris,No big problem,just sew gash up with cotton and thred,it will then be able to eat,but when it drinkjs it will dribble out through the little gaps,so just use that superglue or paint on plastic skin to seal it up,give it few days and it will go green then black,in the end will get hard,and smaller,then fall off,.
PIGEONJIMI Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I once stitched up a YBs crop using ordinary cotton that i soaked in tcp, It had hit the overhead pylon cables above my garden,It seemed fine & didn't look to be in any discomfort,however I lost it in a flyaway about 3 weeks later.

Blueberry Max Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I got a young one back this morning the crop wide opening. My uncle Taylorsloft and George stitched the pigeon up. My uncles done it a few times and the pigeons have went on to race well.
