John1 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 as a member of ayrshire fed (scotland) i would like peoples views on the following our first race last weekend was locherbie which turned out to be a bad race 50 mls shortest 80+ longest therefore the fed called a delegate meeting and changed the whole progame it now works out that the shortest member now flys 20 mile+ and the longest 100 mile + do you think this is enough for young birds to race as we are not racing out of scotland
Novice Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Personally I would have preferred to race the previous programme but the birds were not ready for Longtown this week. Perhaps if the birds had a decent race last week from Lockerbie then we would not have needed to change the programme. In my opinion 3 races is enough for youngsters and distance is not really that important.
Guest spin cycle Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 IMO doesn't matter whether you're a 'keeper' or 'flyer'...we need them all and whatever the choice fanciers should opt for the one that gives them most pleasure
