I placed an order with them for various things. Had an email saying they had dispatched the goods (about 4-5 days from date of order). Waited for delivery on the date stated and nothing turned up. Phoned up 4 times trying to track the delivery. The girl phoned Parcel force there and then for me and was told that the order would be delivered the following day on all 4 occasions. Today I then phoned again, but this time she got parcel force to phone me straight away. She informed me that the parcel had been left on my local post office. I then phoned them and they said the parcel had been sitting there for 3 days! I asked when they would be delivering it and was told they were nothing to do with parcel force and that they only hold parcels which parcel force had difficulty delivering! I now have to collect the parcel myself. I had received no letter, note saying they had tried delivering or that the parcel was at the post office and would require picking up. On this occasion Boddy and Ridewood obviously posted and had done all they could. I have to speak as I find, there can be a delay in when you get the product, but as on this occasion it might not always be there fault!!

challenger  - I too ordered personalised rings and when I phoned them today was told they were waiting for delivery that and were sure they would be in next week! Sounds like I might have had a standard reply!

good idea to pay by credit card, if nothing arrives ask for refund and report to credit card comany!

They won't want money pulled back from them to often as it costs them!

I ordered a book and some origo stim. The bill came to 39.99. I phoned to check on the delivery about 6 times without getting anywhere, so I cancelled the order. They did not send the money back so I issued them with a notice to say I would be sueing them, giving them five days notice. They sent my money back on the last day. I also realised that they had overcharged me on the postage, and when I pointed this out they said it was Company Policy to charge the way they did. I think that the worst part of dealing with them was the way they spoke to me. Very rude and it was take it or leave it.

I would not spend another penny there if it was the last supplier in the World.

For those of you that are having trouble, phone Trading Standards. They will tell you how to get your money back. I think it is worth doing because in these days of Credit Crunch they may be going through. If they are, they will try to get as much of your money as they can before they declare that they are insolvent. In that case they will keep the money and there will be nothing you can do about it.

I have very rarely used them, I tend to use these companies more than anything -

PJ Lofts

Clares Pet Products

Also going to try Murray & Mills

I cant say PJ or Clares are perfect as every company makes F*** up's but overall i think they have a pretty good service which in most cases is next day delivery.

Also heard good reports on Taylors choice from Crewe but not used them yet.

i would think from the current financial climate and the weak pound that prices will have increased and they'll be haggling on prices for most things and wont want to be loosing money as they will have to sell at the prices they published in there catologue , so better to have no stock till pound recovers but they'll be ok as are selling other pet products  ;)

Think your right mate, i know Geoff Clare said the Euro is crippling him, he highly rates the Prona-grit but has moved over to Matrix as he lost on the last batch.

I try and avoid having to send for anything, always stock up at Blackpool, Doncaster, Welsh Fair etc to last the season, firstly you know you've got what you want/need and secondly it saves postage etc.

My last order in 2002/3 took ....................................... hold on never got it!! Oh and no refund.

To say i'd never use them again ever is a bit of an under statement!!

Old Yellow, you are being kind in your remarks. I can't see how B&R can excuse the rudness and the downright lies that they told me on the phone. After I had kept my temper and avoided taking a attitude on three occasions. Yes three occasions.  And after another wait on the telephone, I told the person who finally answered that, if they were a bit closer I would call in to see them and I would'nt be there to pass the time. I'm sorry to say this but, I have found them to be a rubbish firm. And I am convinced that if I had not made it clear that I really would take them to court, I may not have got my money back. I think you are right about them not keeping stock. They are probably relying on other firms' stock and are trying to make promises that they have no chance of keeping. And of course, when they get caught out they tell lies and if you push it they become rude. I will take my busness elsewhere and if anyone wants to know, I will tell them what I think of B&R.

Old Yellow, please don't take what I have said personally. It's just that I get so angry when people like that take advantage in the sly underhanded way that they do. The vast majority of fanciers are very trusting and certainly don't deserve to be taken advantage of. My aim was and is to make public the way that these people conduct their business. If push comes to shove I can back up everything I say with the evidence of the incident that I have refered to. Including the legal approach that I took. There have been other occasions when I have been messed about and ripped off. Unfortunately, I did not record the details of those situations so I can't quote them.

Best wishes

Owen

you have your right to an opinion i try not to use them and im on there doorstep ;)  but sometimes needs must ;)

Must admit, I don't think the service is anything to crack on about, you generally find the smaller the company the better the service.  I must of made at least 20 calls to B&R to question the installation of my Benzing M1 only to be told by the female recipient that I would be called back later.----------------still waiting.

If people are so fed up with them why even post about them as someone said the other day, any advertising is good advertising, especially if its free.  What's the bets if people can't get stuff elsewhere they will use B&R no matter how crap they may be, they might not have heard of them before reading here either.  Think on and give them a wide berth might be best?  :-/
