Thought i would get help from the experts.

In my loft i have got 2 pair of stock birds that has bred me birds i am very proud off.(last year and this). My only trouble is i have about 9 cocks (widowhood, natural and stock)capable of breeding me some goo-dens.But i only got the 2 proven hens and 1 natural hen that looks to be promising which i gone send to the old hens national. Now,do i invest in a hen and retire a widowhood cock to stock or just keep on breeding with Wat i got hoping that some of my widowhood hens might turn out some good youngins.

Any idee's?

i would pair up the widows and let them raise a round with there hens you never know there could be a pair of good breeders in with the race team you can earmark for the stock shed

Breed a pair from everything in the loft and then push them to the limit and you may be suprised

Never a truer word said spent a fortune over the years and my Palamos cocks sire was a stray in the town market ;D

there was a write up in bhw about abloke who caught 3 pairs of birds from his town center, the ones he thought looked good, he raced the young and won every race  with them

Or keep breeding the way you are if your winning well keeps your cost down aswell but think the above answer is a really good one also.

Good Luck whatever you decide

breed from your own birds , try them out , you will be very surprised,,in my opinion  its just getting the management/system right,, ,

in past years ive paid a fortune for birds, lol,, they were no better or worse than any other pigeon ,,on-form pigeons take a bit of beating lol

p,s rung  a yb  in an old barn,, topped the fed 6,000 birds  ;D true ;D,,,,  now i cant manage the ladders lol :)
