blaz Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 well done to all that did well at this. i must admit it said a final race 199 mile brought to 176 with a hurricane up their ass 1st birds doing well over 1800 ypm .i am very disappointed in it .i sound like a bad loser but i sent birds down hoping for a race at 199 not a BLOW HOME at 176 . i think next year we will try the europa one loft race .with the hope of a real race at the distance they state.

pjc Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 when the birds are entered nobody knows whats going to happen down the line, heavy training losses, bop attacks, what the weather forcast is going to be on main race day etc. You pay your money and take you chance. Congratulations to those who did get in the result today!
chichichi Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 we had a bird in the race and finished 96th,, very pleased the bird got back ,, not pleased with the blow home,,but thats racing,, wind plays its part in the fed every week.. if they had got a north wind we would have had higher losses.. so you pay your money and take your chance.. with lots home the yearling race could be a very serious event next year.. welldone to the winners ant
