alec Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 thinking of going to the national been told by older fanciers in the west not to send because if there is east in the wind they are held over till it turns west
pjc Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 and the opposite applies if you live in the East! you've got to be in it to win it!
Geraint Parry Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 and the same if you live in the North, lol. Pigeon fanciers hey.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 thinking of going to the national been told by older fanciers in the west not to send because if there is east in the wind they are held over till it turns west Be assured this is not the case, the last thing a race controller has to worry about is the wind, enough problems with rain and clashing with other organisations. ;D ;DGo back to these older fanciers and give them a good kick up the *expletive removed* from spouting rubbish.
Jumbo Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Just hope we get a day that gives all sections a chance , With the race a week later than normal i hope we get an early enough lib so us in the north section get plenty of time to get our birds on the day .
Guest WINGS 04 Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 do you think it will help the birds only being in the racing basket for 1 night if we don't get a hold over
Jumbo Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 do you think it will help the birds only being in the racing basket for 1 night if we don't get a hold over Yes i think it should , as it's no different from a Fed race , just hope we get a race on the Saturday.
Guest KING BILLY Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 do you think it will help the birds only being in the racing basket for 1 night if we don't get a hold overno because my doos need that good feding the national gives the birds ;D ;D ;D
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 do you think it will help the birds only being in the racing basket for 1 night if we don't get a hold over Yes and No :-/ :-/ :-/ Yes because it means that birds will not be eating of a basket floor that has been contaminated with pigeons that could have diseases and also less chance of dehydration taking place. No because it is all a wee bit of a rush to get to the liberation in plenty of time for a liberation.
Jumbo Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Gareth, does that mean we might have a late lib again like last year???????????
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Gareth, does that mean we might have a late lib again like last year??????????? Pigeons should be down in plenty of time for a 07.00 liberation, then a wee prayer for the weather is what is required. ;)
Jumbo Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks for that Gareth if you get them up around that time we have no prblem getting them up here on the day
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks for that Gareth if you get them up around that time we have no prblem getting them up here on the day Dont i know it as you fly 70 to 100 miles further than the west and you usually time in before us. :P ;) ;D ;D

Guest Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 wouldnt like to think any race controller would think like that his main aim is to get as good and fair race as possible the 1 thing he cant control is weather/wind iam looking forward to our y/bird nat on sat all the best to all who send its going to be a stiff 1 if the wind forecast is correct

Watch out for Barclay McCrindle & son, from Paisley in the west section. Flying brilliantly this year with their ybs into a disadvantaged area. Taking bets that they win their section
