For me, the stats from the BBC news link are suspect, 'apples & pears' spring to mind there. For comparisons to be meaningful, I'd expect the counts of breeding birds to be taken in the same Area - before and after the wind farm was built. And even then, if there were less breeding birds after the windfarm was built, it might not have anything to do with the windfarm.

i know the guy from the rspb who lives near me in elgin. he has been monitoring the new windfarm  on the moors above elgin and he has told me there has been no significent decline in any birdlife in and around the windfarm.coud be his bosses are at the spinning again.

birds will soon get used to wind farms a year or 2 and it wil be back to normal.

its nothing to do with wind farms, they are using that as  a cover up, as Percy has all but killed of the lapwings, and golden plovers,  can you no see through there twisted minds, as they are telling the public, so when  they are asked about the lapwings,  its the fault of the  turbines,  and then its only a matter of time to add to the list  as it will never be  Percy's fault
