Guest bakes Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 and there is light coming through the window plus have an light in the shed fitted to a dimer timer
Guest shadow Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 get rid of the lino it will harbour bugs underneath it plus you can not scrape it clean
just ask me Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 personally i like a floating floor in a loft guaranteed to be dry
chrisbonnie Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 floor grit is pretty nifty, i just got it the other week for my loft, just lay it on thick ,then rake it every day, you`ll only have to change the grit every few weeks, depending on how many birds you have
wilkins Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 lino is fine if fitted correctly , seen plenty of good fliers use it during the summer months but , i have a deep litter in mine of hemp straw 8 months old so now mostly dried dropping , i was told by a vet if you dont have grids or can not scrape out 2-3 times a day you are better with a dry dropping method
Guest bakes Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 i dissided to rip the lino up just have to make sure i scrap the floor daily when i get the young birds in started to make some more boxs but ran out of wood so one box will be a bit smaller than the rest but aint bothered about that
just ask me Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 also mate i like to stick up perches in as many places as possible as the birds may think there is more space in the loft and they have a choice keeps them happy i do like the box perches myself but also where u can the v perches works a treat
Guest bakes Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 orderd some of these other day mate 10 of them http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/163158_perch_-_standard_wooden.php with http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/162474_drinking_fountain_plastic_3pint.php and http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/162563_drinkergrit_hopper_1-5_pint.php and http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/163596_feeder_economy_-_plastic_100cm.php
just ask me Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 u seem to be way ahead of any of us mate the only thing i would say is i rather the the grey drinkers to use as drinkers the third link also grit should really be changed every day and if u use smaller pots u wont use as much hope u dont think im nitpicking

donker46 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 i think you should leave the floor bare my father always has and hes winning. plus i think woodchips create to much dust and can store bugs and deseases although people do win with chips. and paint the floor with creaosoap
