ron123 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 i have been told about using oil seeds during racing when is the best time to use them do you think?start of week middle of week or after race has ended that week?
OLDYELLOW Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 i use a small amount all week mainly for conditioning / trapping
ron123 Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 nice one do they work good for you?
Guest frank dooman Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 different oil seeds have different realease times so its important to give them at the right day to get the energy to the birds, so it depends how long the bird is going to be in the basket but mainly at the end of the week every thing should be geared to bring the birds to there peak for that 1 day but if you just want to keep good condition then as old yellow says a little every other day
chris vasey Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 using fat seeds at the back end of the week will be to late to benefit in the race if you are using a diat mix which is mostly fat seed you would use this at the start of the week when the birds will benefit the most

Guest frank dooman Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 i dont use the seeds i use the oils hemp/weatgerm etc high energy oils and its certainly not done my results any harm in the last 2 years

Guest frank dooman Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 i thought that the thread was about oil seeds now i know most oil seeds have a high fat content but i thought the ques was aimed at the energy seeds sory if i got it wrong
