Hi everyone,

Some of you know me and some of you don't but my names Chris and i obviously work for Taylors Choice. I have always been interested in pigeons working in a pigeon shop but have never flown them myself and next year i am looking into starting to keep and race my own pigeons. I understand most things about the pigeons themselves but i'm wondering where the best places are to get a loft or how you go about doing this?

Ive never been involved in buying or selling pigeon lofts so i'm just after a bit of guidence really. Any help or advice at all would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Chris

Chris, are you going to have the loft at your house or at work premises?

If you are going to have it at the work premises why don't you contact some of the loft builders for a demonstration loft which would be advertising for them as well as maybe being free to use!

build your own :)

Ditto, and once you have the style set up in mind and size.... Get around the demolish sites... at least for the frame work... yes flooring too personally.

Need a few concrete Kerbs to bolt on too and keep of the gound. Yes a some air vent 1/4 inch holes are best, but any decent building supplies have an array.

Then Air in bottom, hits the back and up through the middle. I have false roof where the wind / air passes over the whole loft constantly. Chimneys like the ole Hen Batery / pigs house are a prove ventilation.

Good luck. Think thrice, another twice and buy once eh.

There is lot of information you would have to make available, before anyone can give you proper advice that would work for you. If I were you, and bearing in mind that you are in contact with people in the sport, I would find out who is the best racer in your area.

Then, cap in hand, ask him for advice. And while you are about it you can see what sort of loft he has. Discuss with your new friend the sort of racing systems you may want to adopt and get his views on how to build or buy a loft to suite.

That approach would be better than people on this forum trying to second guess what may find to your liking.
